To Place an Order  ?

If you would like to place an order - click on the following link to print an order form.  Fill in the details for the buttons you require and post the completed form & your payment to PO Box 506, Kellyville NSW  2155.

Would you like a Colour Brochure & Pricelist ?

The website contains the most up to date information about the button designs, however, if you would like a colour copy of the current 2007 button catalogue (including kits, button packs and any updates), please send a cheque/money order for $5.00 payable to HANDMADE BY KAREN to PO Box 506, Kellyville  NSW  2155, or phone through, or mail your credit card details to us.  Remember to include your return address details and I will forward you a copy.  You will also receive a free button (selected at random) with your catalogue.  Overseas postage will incur an additional charge.

Would you like to know when the website is updated ?

If you would like to receive an email whenever the website is updated please send a message entitled "web update" to karen@handmadebykaren.com.au and we will let you know when new products have been added to the site. 

Cheque ? Credit Card Payments ? or Direct Deposit into our Account ?

Yes, we accept all forms of payment.  By Visa, Bankcard or Mastercard - you may phone your order through on (02) 9836 0251 or you can print out and complete an order form and post it to PO Box 506 Kellyville NSW 2155. You can also fax your completed order form to (02) 9836 0254.  Please provide a daytime contact phone number and/or email address with your order so that we can contact you if necessary.  We also accept payment by cheque or money order to the above address.  Please do not send CASH in the post. Please send an email to karen@handmadebykaren.com.au to request our bank account information if you would like to make a direct deposit into our account.

Ceramic Buttons with code numbers which include an asterisk (*) come in a selection of colours from the following colour chart.  Please specify your colour choice on your order form. (Note: Porcelain buttons have a different colour chart listed on their page).

Where to Find Me ?

Unfortunately, I do not have a shop, however, if you live in the Sydney area (or would like to come for a visit), you can find me at the Hills Craft Market, Showground Road, Castle Hill on the 4th Sunday of every month (except Dec/Jan).  Please phone or email me if you would like any information or directions to the market venue.

The Designs ?

Although I strive to paint each button as close to the same as it appears on the website, each button is individually handpainted, and as such, slight variations can occur between buttons of the same design - this is considered a feature (rather than a fault) of handpainted buttons and adds to their unique charm and appeal.  No two are ever the same !

About the Button Size Information ?

The approximate height (or length) of each button is shown in the description.  Not all buttons are the same size, that is, not all buttons will necessarily "go together" and look to scale.  If you would like to know more detailed information about their size, or to enquire about co-ordinating sets of buttons together, please contact me & I would be more than happy to assist you.

General Information About Me ?

My name is Karen and I have been married to Jeff for 20 years.  We have three children, aged 15 & 11 and 2.  I have been making ceramic buttons for more than six years now, although I have enjoyed ceramics for the past 10 years or so.  Initially, I started out selling my buttons at local craft markets before expanding to internet and mail order sales and now, also several retail outlets.

All the buttons in my range have been either hand cut from clay or poured from liquid slip into moulds, they are all cleaned, painted, glazed and fired by myself.  Each button is individually marked on the back with either "Handmade by Karen" or "HBK" markings.

Buttons with code numbers commencing with "C" are made from ceramic clay, "T" from terracotta clay and "P" from porcelain clay.  Button colours are reproduced as accurately as possible.  Slight colour variations can, and do, occur as part of the normal firing process.  Ceramic, terracotta & porcelain buttons are colour-fast and can be safely hand washed, however, as they are delicate, machine-washing is not recommended.  Please ensure that they are dried thoroughly after they have been washed.
